Process Lasso / Re: Process Lasso Error on Aff...

Some games have built-in anti-cheat mechanisms or other protections that might interfere with third-party applications attempting to change their affinity or priority. This could be why you're seeing issues specifically with That's not my Neighbor certain games.

When the system runs out of free memory, it may start paging (swapping data to and from the Among Us disk), which can slow down performance significantly.

Use tools like Task Manager, Resource Monitor, or third-party utilities like HWMonitor to keep an eye on Geometry Dash CPU usage, temperature, and throttling behaviors.

for the name of the sample files there is a few variable available but "month" and "minute" share the same one %mm%

i would suggest changing one to something different, maybe %MM% for months

Basically, each time I don't open process lasso manually it lags every second no matter the startup setting.

Quote from: reiichiroh on January 12, 2020, 08:15:28 PMLost Planet 2 is one example of a game that's still being sold despite having discontinued (shut down by MS but still working) DRM middleware in the form of Games For Windows Live:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/45750/Lost_Planet_2/

Setting affinities didn't seem to work for it but disabling SMT in Ryzen Master worked. I have a Ryzen 2700 and some other comments from people with the same problems and recent AMD CPUs indicate that setting it to "Legacy Compatibility Mode" in Ryzen Master would do the trick. LCM is only available to CPUs higher than 8, like the more heavy duty AMD Threadrippers. A well known limitation of some older games requiring the CPU/PC be put into LCM to run games.

These changes involve rebooting and are a minor inconvenience so that's why I was wondering if Process Lasso can do it. If not, no biggie as these are older games so not much effort should be expended. Thanks.

On a related note, there is 1 game I know of that will refuse to run (Starlink the battle for Atlas) by Ubisoft and requires virtualization be disabled completely in BIOS/UEFI to work--a consequence of the Denovo antitamper copy protection it uses. Most games patch it out after the initial sale period but it seems Ubisoft hasn't bothered to update/remove it. I know bypassing detection of virtualization features is more of a malware focused tactic so I don't expect this to be possible.

Cheers.

Try with CPU sets instead if CPU affinity doesn't work.

Have you ever tried using MSI Mode Utility v3?

The problems you have explained here is the same i have experienced over the last 10 yrs working with multiple DAW's.  I tried using PL and no matter how far i went i couldnt solve this problem then, the penny dropped. Using the MSI tool allowed me to set the interrupt priority per device.  Making sure my GPU, USB (bus sound cards are connect to) and system drive are all set to high while other devices are set to Normal or low.  Not seen a skip, hop or pop since using this method.

Tip:  If you do give this method a try, apply the modified settings  within the utility restart your system and hop straight into the bios touch nothing exit and save (f10) and proceed as normal.

Tip: DO NOT set interrupt priority to HIGH on all your devices. Doing so will be counter-productive.

Tip: When you launch the MSI tool you may see that some of your devices are set too "Undefined". If these devices are not essential as say your GPU/USB devices then set them to Normal or low.

Warning: Every time you install new gpu drivers and/or upgrade your USB drivers you will have to re-run these steps.

Hope this help!

All the Best.

I use process lasso process watchdog to adjust google chrome but google chrome has multiple processes. the rules used to constantly spam because many of google chromes processes don't do anything leading to the condition being met. Id like to turn off processing rules for the calling process if it meets a certain condition but not the other processes that have the same name as the process. Im not entirely sure if it worked. the stopped processing rules rule doesn't list itself in process lasso when I enabled it. Its possible the cpu usage for the other processes was preventing the rule from being displayed. it seems to not spam the rule as much. but i think thats just because I set the governor and the program to have a 2 second polling latency.

The Process Watchdog feature in Process Lasso allows you to create advanced rules that can take action when a process exceeds a certain threshold of CPU or memory usage
