Title: Seeking Advice on How to Optimize Process Lasso for a Heavy Workload?
Post by: isabellajones on October 10, 2024, 04:01:26 AM
Hey everyone,

I've been using Process Lasso for a while now, and it's been fantastic for general performance improvements on my system. But recently, I've been working with some pretty resource-heavy software (think large datasets, multiple VMs running, and heavy multitasking), and I'm curious if there are any specific tweaks or settings I should be focusing on to get the most out of Process Lasso in this kind of scenario. When I was Googling for the same I came across these resources https://community.bitsum.com/forum/index.php?topic=11971.0 What is Power BI Dashboard (https://www.igmguru.com/blog/what-is-power-bi-dashboard) however they are good but I want to learn more from community members.

Any recommendations on configurations, CPU affinities, or other features that could help me better manage my workload? I'm sure some of you have experience with similar setups, so I'd love to hear what's worked for you.

Thanks in advance!

CPU Affinity & Priority: Limit background tasks to fewer cores and set essential apps to "Above Normal" or "High" priority to ensure they get enough CPU power.
Performance Mode: Enable this for resource-heavy apps to maximize CPU availability and performance.
ProBalance: Adjust settings to boost foreground apps, ensuring they receive more CPU cycles.
SmartTrim: Use this feature (in Process Lasso Pro) to manage memory, especially useful when handling large datasets or multiple VMs.
Core Unparking: Keep all cores active to avoid resource limitations under heavy use.
CPU Throttling Control: Manage CPU temperatures to avoid throttling during intensive tasks.
