Title: disabling or not cores for gaming?
Post by: Appaloosa on January 29, 2025, 12:43:43 AM
hello, i've a i5 13600kf. some games (especially elden ring) have huge problems with intel architecture since 12th gen, in fact if i disable E cores game works usually nice around 60fps, with the E cores it's a stutter mess. manually changing on steam property or with process lasso i can perma disable the cores of hyperthreading (like core 1, core 3, core 5) some game benefit some doesn't, but i heard most games befenit disabling core 0, gaining a boost. having this CPU, if i disable core 0 i need to disable core 1 too, because both of the same physical first P core? that's my guess, but asking

I'm glad to hear that Process Lasso is serving you well!

Unfortunately, we don't have data on whether disabling logical cores (threads) 0 and 1 is better than only disabling 0. Your hypothesis is reasonable, but you do want to ensure that you've got enough cores remaining to service the needs of your games.
