Title: Set CPU Affinity for whole drive?
Post by: BlackSkillX on March 16, 2025, 12:55:18 PM
Hello there,

someone on reddit suggested to assign whole dive to specific CPU affinities and I am trying to replicate that.

Lets say you have a dual CCD CPU and you want to run every process from the drive with your windows install (Drive C:) on core 0-7 (CCD 0) and all processes from Drive D: (where all games are installed) on core 8-15 (CCD 1).
Is that possible and what would the Process Match in the Affinity Mask look like?
I tried " c:\ " for the windows drive and " d:\ " (without quotation marks)for the game drive but it did not work and both Process Matches were not saved /were deleted when reopening the masks.
Any reason why it is not working?
My ProcessLasso is in german language, so maybe there is a problem with the Syntax?

Would appreciate some help :)

You just need to add a wildcard, such as:

d:\*
Let me know how it goes ;)

Yes, this did the trick!
Thank you so much!

With this I was actually able to assign CPU Affinities to 40k Spacemarine 2 (Easy Anti Cheat), which was not possible before! Still no luck to force CPU Affinities to The Finals though.

The syntax could be the culprit, especially with a German interface. I recall once trying to prioritize audio processes and spent hours tweaking the settings, only to find I'd missed a crucial slash. Talk about frustrating! Maybe check ProcessLasso's documentation for German-specific syntax. This reminds me of the  Moto X3M  game. Sharing is caring, hoping the community helps.
