Title: Backup/Restore Column layout?
Post by: Autumner on July 15, 2025, 12:52:36 PM
Hello,

Is this information within specific Registry entries or somewhere else? I'd love being able to quickly save/restore my UI customisations. Essentially, which columns are enabled and their order.

Thank you

They are stored in various values at HKCU\Software\ProcessLasso .

We are working on a way to import/export the UI customizations. However, one of the limitations is that the UI settings are version dependent, so every once and a while they will have to reset. For instance, the columns recently reset when we added a new one, which might be what prompted this concern. In other cases, substantial changes to the UI layout would force a reset. Anyway, it's something we're aware of and are considering ways to improve!

Thanks for keeping this in mind. Indeed, the recent upgrade prompted this. Not a huge problem if it only occurs say, on v15=>v16 type of upgrades.

I did notice that restoring the entire ProcessLasso key actually worked, but I take it that restoring a v15 registry key on a v16 installation is not recommended?

I would have expected it to reject those registry values. Are you sure you hadn't already rearranged the columns in v16? In any event, it won't hurt anything as there are safeguards on the data structures (settings) being imported, so worst case is it will toss out what no longer makes sense.

Not 100% sure to be honest. In any case... all good.  8)

Hope you can implement this before v19.
