Title: Looking for a fun online game. Who know?
Post by: inventbong on August 26, 2025, 12:24:05 AM
Hi everyone, Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I may need your help. I have a nice CPU, Intel i5 13500, and GPU, 4070.

Maplestory, an ancient game I play, uses RAM, CPU, and other hardware. I think AMD and older Intel 12 and 13 generation processors function better with the game.

Could you help me disable cores or provide me any tips? You may construct the game CPU to work like an AMD X3D or vintage Intel CPUs if you can afford it.

That's a solid setup you have! For MapleStory, since it's an older game, it doesn't really optimize well for newer CPUs with many efficiency cores. You can try disabling E-cores from your BIOS or limit the game to fewer cores using Windows' "Set Affinity" option. This sometimes helps the game behave more like it's running on older Intel or AMD chips. Also, lowering background tasks and ensuring RAM isn't heavily used by other apps can improve stability.

Thanks for sharing your specs — hope this helps you get a smoother experience!

Hey! I had a similar setup with an i5-13500 and noticed Maplestory runs smoother when I disable E-cores in the BIOS—feels more like the performance you'd get from an older Intel chip or even AMD's X3D series with strong per-core performance. Limiting background tasks and setting CPU affinity also helped a ton.
