Title: CPU Set Persistance
Post by: C47 on October 31, 2025, 02:12:43 AM
Hi everyone,

Jayztwocents recently posted a video about a freeware tool that can setup CPU Sets automatically for games.

One of the games Im playing - The First Descendant - a UE5 game with Easy Anti-Cheat, has issues consistently telling the exe to use the cached cores on my 7950x3d.

If I do it mid-game, EAC doesnt let me change the CPU Set config, sometimes it works other times it doesnt.

With the new github freeware tool, it automatically assigns the exe file to use cached cores.

Im sure process lasso has this functionality but I cannot find it anywhere (have the paid version).

Using CPU Sets > Always on the process doesnt work. Are there any other ways for process lasso to apply CPU sets automatically / a persistence feature?

That tool uses the same underlying API to apply CPU Sets, so the behavior should be identical. There is no method by which CPU Sets can be enforced by registry, for example. I think this may have been miscommunicated. So, if there is a variance, then we need to study the reason. I suspect the "sometimes works" applies to both tools, but I'd like to understand why you're seeing that.

If you haven't, check menu item "Options > Forced Mode". That will cause the CPU Sets rule to retry if it fails or is overridden.
