Hi everyone,
I am experiencing extreme system-wide stuttering and freezing issues after the recent Process Lasso update. My system was running perfectly before, but now it feels totally unusable for daily tasks when Process Lasso is running in the background.
Here are my hardware specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D
GPU: ASUS ROG Strix RTX 5090
RAM: 64GB DDR5-6000
Peripherals: Logitech MX Master 3S & Logitech Keyboard
OS: Windows 11
The symptoms I am constantly facing:
Mouse Stuttering: The mouse pointer frequently freezes and stutters during simple desktop usage.
Severe Keyboard Lag: Typing in browsers is heavily delayed and unresponsive.
Video Playback Interruptions: Short videos (e.g., on Threads or social media) constantly pause or get interrupted automatically.
Image Loading Hangs: Loading images on web pages causes the entire browser to hang momentarily.
The moment I completely close or uninstall Process Lasso, all these stuttering and freezing issues immediately disappear, and the system becomes buttery smooth again. It seems the recent update's core scheduling or CCD affinity management is causing massive DPC latency conflicts with Windows 11, browser hardware acceleration, and input services.
Are there any plans to release a hotfix for dual-CCD / X3D processors? Until this is resolved, I am forced to keep Process Lasso uninstalled on this flagship setup.
Looking forward to a response.
There aren't any general problems we are aware of, or that would have likely been caused by any recent update. They've mostly been cosmetic and UX oriented, to be honest. And what you describe sounds hard to miss!
However, one or more of your particular rules could have started to behave differently after some other change in system conditions, such as system or application updates.
If you want to post your diagnostics report from the "Help" menu, or send it to us at support@bitsum.com we can take a closer look. You can also try resetting your config at the bottom of the "Options" menu, then restarting the system -- to try to rule the rules out, no pun intended.
v18.2.1 is scheduled to be released today, but contains no critical hotfixes.
You can also experiment with older versions here: https://bitsum.com/support/show_all_versions.php?ProductID=64435
As always, though I'm not suggesting it is related to this case, please ensure you only download Process Lasso from bitsum.com (https://bitsum.com). We've seen unauthorized (pirated) copies out there that contain malware! Sadly this is a problem endemic to the industry. Stay vigilant!
Greetings
It happened to us too when installing (over-installing) from v18.1.0.44 to v18.2.0.50
Freezing and various slowdowns and the ProcessLasso interface sometimes stuck on loading
We solved the problem by completely uninstalling the program and reinstalling it from scratch, then manually restoring all the custom settings
Restoring custom colors was an odyssey XD
You can try right-clicking on the GPU widget and unchecking "Collect and Show CPU Utilization". We aren't aware of any general problem, but the biggest changes are related to that. Note that when Process Lasso is minimized to the tray, it doesn't collect any GPU data so it shouldn't be a factor.
Sorry about the custom colors, it is a hassle to restore them! We need to work on that.
