Title: Beta users: Be sure you got the new final, the beta links weren't updated
Post by: Jeremy Collake on May 28, 2011, 06:34:00 AM
Beta users should make sure they got the new final, as the beta links were just now updated a day after release due a hiccup in the upload system (hey, I've done a lot of moving around on the web lately ;p).

I just got around to updating to the new ver 5.0.0.17. I love the auto-update idea and look forward to testing it. I noticed however that the installed version of the basic PL Pro x64 was only 5.0.0.15. It still tells me there is a ver .17 available, but the install only gives me .15  :(

You are probably hitting the old web server, which has that version. To keep it in sync until the DNS change propagates, it uses the new database but it has day old files. You should hit the new server soon, at 64.x.x.x instead of 74.x.x.x. That said I will double check, but this makes sense. I suppose I could update the old server, but it should be outta the system for most in a few hours and I will most likely screw something up if I attempt manual file updates -- such things are best left to my scripts ;p

These URLs will take you to the new server:

http://www.bitsum.org/files/prolasso.zip
http://www.bitsum.org/files/prolasso64.zip

BTW, the new server is quite a bit faster, you will likely notice this right away. The VPS I had for the last month buckled hard core yesterday.. I mean, down it went. I suppose it was only to be expected with 512MB of RAM allocated to its virtual OS and no paging allowed. When the RAM filled up, it just crashed. The new box is a real dedicated server with 2GB of RAM, and it can actually page out, lol. I am loving playing with it to be honest.
