Title: New feature coming to v3.27 b6, ProBalance restraint by CPU affinity
Post by: Jeremy Collake on November 30, 2008, 08:34:35 PM
I've added a much requested new function: ProBalance restraint by changing the CPU affinity of offending processes. For now, users will need to enable and configure which CPUs to switch to, as it won't be activated by default. However, power users should definitely appreciate this new capability. Eventually, Process Lasso will have algorithms to automatically choose the optimal affinity.

I plan to release this new beta 6 soon. This series of betas will end up being the largest changes I've made in some time.

Is it possible also to exclude processes started by system also?

Yea, I'll add that to the feature request list. I'll try to get to it soon.

Note that you can already exclude system services, which account for the majority of processes running under the system context.

Version 3.27 beta 6 now released. There is more polishing to do, keep in mind it is still in beta. However, everything should work.
