Title: Loss of string resources
Post by: barnyjuno on September 19, 2008, 10:28:19 AM
Hi there, we've been playing with PECompact2 and it seems pretty good. However, we've just run into a problem. We have an application written in VC++ using MFC that uses a lot of string resources. Just lately we've noticed that after we've run the executable through PECompact2, some of these strings disappear! I've pointed our QA guy at the various command line options used to control compression of resources, but I was wondering if anybody else had encountered this problem?

That is very strange. I've not heard of it happening before. If you discover anything more on this issue, please let us know.

Also, if you want to submit a sample of the affected executable I can perhaps track down the cause. If you want, please provide it to me via a URL or email it to binaries@bitsum.com.

Thanks
