Hello,

I bought the Pro version of Process Lasso. I have Bitsum Highest Performance enabled, and Probalance enabled. I mostly use Fusion and Chrome. I have a decent CAD station. Four years old but still quite powerful I think. I am frequently annoyed by mouse stutter. I see it happening in both Chrome and Fusion. I've done various things to prioritize Fusion and Chrome. It hasn't made any difference at all that I can see. I've also tried endless optimizations suggested for dealing with this to no effect. I was hoping Lasso would help, but nothing so far.

Any suggestions are most welcome.

Sadly, Process Lasso probably won't be able to help in your situation. The issue is likely deep rooted, rather than simple process level resource contention. So, what is the cause? It's really hard to pin things like that down. You're already in a high performance power plan, else that'd be the first suggestion. If the issue were severe enough and I'd tried everything I could think of, I'd probably reinstall Windows and slowly build it back up from scratch. I wouldn't be surprised to find out the issue emerged after a Windows update and resolves in a future one.

Our QA guy, Ed, does suggest that AMD systems can suffer from USB device issues and that you may want to try removing all hubs or switching to different USB ports.

The Pro version of Process Lasso is truly a great experience. Your detailed instructions on prioritizing Fusion and Chrome are very helpful. I really appreciate the approach.

Mouse stutter usually is not caused by CPU scheduling so Process Lasso often will not fix it. If your CPU is not near 100 percent the issue is likely somewhere else.

Things worth checking

Update your GPU drivers since Chrome and Fusion rely on the graphics card
Check DPC latency with a tool like LatencyMon because bad drivers can cause micro freezes
Try a different USB port or lower mouse polling rate
Test turning hardware acceleration off in Chrome

You can set Fusion to High priority in Process Lasso, but if CPU load is not the problem it probably will not change much.
