When I run a few apps, I would like to limit background usage of all other non-essential apps... Maybe this is what 'ProBalance' is used for?

I know I can set priorities, etc. on a per app basis, though wonder if I can do that on a Profile basis.

I notice the auto Power High Performance Profile isn't different than the profile I created, so that's not a change.

If I understand your question correctly, there isn't a way to do that. ProBalance will make an effort to keep background processes at bay, and an advantage of it is that it only kicks in when necessary. For processes that you are sure are background processes that no other processes might depend on for servicing, you can set them to Idle or Below Normal priorities classes (also called "CPU Priority" in Process Lasso) on a per-process basis.

If this doesn't answer your question, please clarify.
