Process Lasso changed my life and im curious if someone can tell me why :D

Okay so for years im always chasing that perfect smooth feeling that im sometimes getting while playing my game and it's really hard to describe. It feels like everything is 1:1 and my mouse feel  "heavier" on the clicks like they are inside the game itself. Otherwise they feel more of less " pointy" or outside of the game depending on how optimised mouse is and over the years i managed to make it "good enough"

At some point in my life I noticed how watching a discord livestream or sometimes a random video will put windows in higher interrupt " 1 ms" instead of the basic 15ms and how it made my mouse feel amazing and everything smoother. Even if before I had 240hz gsync it didnt feel the same and I always chased that perfect feeling ever since

Today ( very late ) I learned about Process Lasso and changed 3 things. high priority on my cpu , high priority on I/O and CPU 0 gone for my games. AND OMG THAT PERFECT MOUSE FEELING I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR IS BACK.

So my question is what could i do that is so wrong in my optimisation on my PC that i need to do all of that to chase for that perfect PC. I even changed my PC twice and never had that feeling. My pc is very clean optimised and nothing is playing in the background during gameplay.

Could it just be I/O in any peripherals ? some sort of EMI im in my basement and if i dont plug my mouse on a specific port on my PC it's very terrible and we had ALOT of electricity problem ( breaker even exploded once )

could it just be how Windows behave with something I configured or how my setup behave together ? so having high prio with CPU 0 makes everything better ? Like I said my PC in my opinion is clean so im wondering what could cause my CPU 0 to be busy enough to cause my game to not be perfect.

My setup is very good. 7800x3d , 5070 , 6000 Mhz CL 32 DDR5. nvme SSD 980 i think ? almost a min maxed setup. Only using 1 monitor to max perf too.

Im very curious about what you guys think that im doing wrong. Surely perfection is achievable without a tool running in the background?

I'm glad to hear that Process Lasso made such a difference . Sometimes a few small adjustments is all it takes!

As to the underlying cause of the suboptimal performance before using Process Lasso: there are a lot of possibilities and I don't have a ready answer for you. Definitely removing CPU 0 from games is a popular and often efficacious tweak, and you can try that in isolation to determine if that was the most impactful rule.

Perhaps the community will have some further feedback.

thank you, yeah im trying for years to fully understand what is the true cause of all that. I really doing all the possible efforts to make everything perfect ! My best theory is that windows is just never going to be perfect and until you tasted perfection you dont know what perfection feels like so most people dont even bother thinking about it.

For my mouse I just think the higher polling rate you go the more you feel any tiny cpu latency so when I uncheck CPU 0 from my games then i dont have any slowdown since im using 4k pollingrate.
