Process Lasso and Laptop Battery Life

I've been using Process Lasso to squeeze every drop of performance out of my laptop, especially when gaming or running heavy software. But lately, I've noticed my battery drains way faster, even when I'm not doing much.

It seems like the custom CPU affinity and high-performance power profiles keep the system running hotter and hungrier all the time. Has anyone else run into this? How do you balance performance tweaks with reasonable battery life? Do you create separate profiles, or just switch things off manually?

IdleSaver is good for this case, as it will drop you down to an energy efficient power plan when you go idle. Otherwise, Application Power Profiles Rules and/or Performance Mode can be used to only enable the high performance power plan when you need it.
