CPUBalance Causing Stutters During Large File Transfers?

Hi all,
I'm Dan, and I've been using CPUBalance for a couple of months on my Windows 11 PC. The machine has an Intel i5-12400F, 32GB RAM, and an NVMe SSD. I mostly use it for gaming, web browsing, and transferring large media files between drives.
Recently, I noticed something odd. Whenever I'm copying a few hundred gigabytes of video files and doing other things at the same time, CPUBalance starts showing activity and my system stays responsive, but the file transfer speed becomes very inconsistent. It'll run at full speed for a while, then suddenly drop, then recover again.
As a test, I temporarily exited CPUBalance and repeated the transfer. The speed graph looked much steadier, although the system felt slightly less responsive when multitasking.
I'm not sure if CPUBalance is actually affecting the transfer process or if it's just a coincidence. Has anyone seen similar behavior when moving large amounts of data? Are there any settings or exclusions I should check?
Thanks for any suggestions.

What does CPUBalance say it has acted on during this period, if anything? There are sometimes "natural" variances in throughput to NVMe devices as buffers and caches fill.

I'd recommend first switching to Process Lasso instead of CPUBalance. It is kept more up to date.
