Hey,

I was just playing BFV, with the Bitsum Highest Performance profile activated. Suddenly, my game minimizes from exclusive fullscreen mode with a prompt about an update to PL. Is it possible to suppress the notification during certain power profiles, perhaps change how it notifies you so it doesn't impact fullscreen applications without turning off the function completely?

Hi, What OS are you on?

If you're on Win10 check focus assist setting to make sure you have "when I am playing a game" on.

Also most times I only see the update window when I open PL, as I always run it closed in the system tray.
Was PL minimized only in the taskbar?

Hey,

I'm on Windows 10 Pro 1809. Focus Assist is using its default settings, which includes being On during gaming and PL was minimized to system tray. This definitely isn't the first time I've experienced this, the update notification minimizing games.

Did it notify you an update is available and you then had to click a button to update, or that one had just been installed (after an automated update)?

The former is a normal dialog window, the latter is a system tray notification. You can also check if you have automated updates enabled in the Update menu.

Let me know and I'll try to track down the logic that caused this.

Yeh, I never have seen this issue but I do have automatic updates not enabled.

It was a notification that an update was available and I could press update, which opens up PL from tray and shows the notification box. I did also have notifications enabled but was obviously hoping for a more subtle approach to notifying me. Would obviously love to be notified, as manually, I would just forget it and end up with a massively outdated version but I have disabled it for now.

Thanks! I will work on figuring out what went wrong here. It is supposed to be gentle and not preempt a full-screen game like that.

It could be windows exclusive fullscreen mode issue, I have seen reports it is not working on later Win10 versions past 1709, even if you disable full-screen optimization in properties.
An easy test is while running the game hitting the windows key "shouldn't" bring up the start menu if it is working correctly.
For me, it does with Win10 1809.
