Process Lasso Error on Affinity Setting

Apparently, process lasso hates my face.  When I attempt to set affinity for specific apps.  I have included New World, however, I tested the same thing in the BF2142 beta and had the exact same result.  I also had Process lasso on windows 10 with the same experience.

This is because the game is protected by an anti-cheat system.

One way around this is to set your rules on the parent process, such as EpicGamesLauncher.exe or Steam.exe. Then the settings, such as CPU affinity or priority, will usually propagate to the game process itself.

While you can't make any changes on the game exe with some anti-cheat software, sometimes you can work around it by setting priority and affinity rules to the game launcher.
What this might do is let the parent launcher enable the affinity you want w/o setting rules to the child (game.exe).

It is worth a try to see if it works.

Thanks, I will try that.  It was super frustrating in bf2142 suffering through horrible lag due to the cross ccx transfer and the only solution was to half my cores...  I appreciate the help.  Too bad we can't use the same vehicles as the root cheats to get around it!

Limiting your CPU cores can be a workaround, but it's definitely not ideal. It's a shame that using the same vehicles as the "root cheats" isn't a viable solution, as that would certainly make getting around the lag a lot more fun!

Sometimes the Lasso algorithm may not converge or may not converge fast enough. This can be solved by fine-tuning hyperparameters or using other optimization algorithms.

Some games have built-in anti-cheat mechanisms or other protections that might interfere with third-party applications attempting to change their affinity or priority. This could be why you're seeing issues specifically with certain games.
