Has PECompact been abandoned?

There's been no beta versions since 12-10-2012 and no releaseversions after 05-05-2010, according
to the all versions list.

It has not, and never will be, abandoned. At least while I live. That isn't to say we can guarantee any particular update or feature, but it's not going anywhere.

PECompact release version hasn't been updated in more than 8 years.

I hope to see an update to PECompact and PEBundle too. I love using both of these software and it would be unfortunate if they are really abandoned.

I know it's always been slow with releases but it's now been over 3 and a half years since the last update with no ETA on any future versions, which leads me to believe there aren't any coming. Does anyone have any more info? Sorry if this has been discussed before here.

Abuse of executable packers by malware authors made their use impractical due to false positives by security software. Licensing also got complicated due to a high fraud rate. It was untenable.

After more than 4 years nothing new has become known about the program PECompact.
I can still remember a self-written and compiled TURBO-PASCAL school project that I had protected with the shareware version of PECompact.
In the meantime the tool has become very outdated and stopped at version 3.11.
Hence my question to the author Jeremy:
-Will you ever "touch" the program again or release a comparable packer?

I would definitely support you with a German translation and also (if it remains affordable for me as a graduate student) this prject with a purchase. Because this tool has always fascinated me, especially that you could no longer "patch" so easily in the EXE data packed with it.

Many greetings from Germany to you and yours
