I am implementing new methods to avoid updating while you are playing a game, if that is what you speak of. It will be two updates away at minimum before the change is reflected though.

Not only games I suppose, full-screen applications (multimedia processes: multimedia players or whatever user defines) in general.

Yes, agreed. This has been a complaint I've had for a while, and I can understand it -- you are playing a game and a damn update pre-empts it. This will be fixed.

In the interim, you can always turn off update notifications. I will also try to make sure the fully automated update is able to function without interrupting your game, which would be more ideal. For those that don't know of this option, it is a checkbox in the Updates menu. This will automatically do the update for you, instead of telling you about it and presenting the option to update to you.

Maybe set it to update only when the system is idle would be the simplest fix.

Hmm... not a bad idea at all. That does cover more bases than aforementioned plans. Good idea Hotrod ;). Thanks. There are some potential issues, such as systems that perpetually sleep in short order, but none that can't be mitigated. Of course, I still would like the automated update to function without interrupting any full screen game.

FYI I have a couple PC's running automated browser macros 24/7, hence my plugin/crash concerns mentioned in other threads. On those systems the update usually doesn't finish correctly if it tries to run during high load moments(typically the download completes but PL never restarts). I do a weekly maintenance on these manually so it is nothing to concern yourself with. That said, a fix of this type would simply make it wait for me to stop FF before an update. This would be ideal. :)

Hmm, I will investigate this, as it should always restart regardless of the conditions.

I believe I've got the code now to not interrupt games if you have fully automatic updates on. In other cases, I'll wait until the system has been idle for at least 30 seconds.

Please note, again, that these changes won't be seen until the update AFTER next. That's because this current build is obviously updating you to the FIXED build. It is only when you update it that the situation will have been resolved.
