Hi,
i want a service to keep my Firefox(or any other program) always running in background, when i close FF, it be still running in background, to do maximum launching speed for every time i click on it's icon in taskbar.

my RAM is 4GB, and usually more than half is free. i use Windows is 8.1 Enterprise x64. my CPU is dual core 2.40GHz.

can u?

"AlwaysUp" program is for this job, but i had tray it, and was not effective.

Right-clicking and selecting 'Pin to Taskbar' does not work? This is a different request?

If i understand you right, just set FF to start at startup either drag shortcut into startup folder or add a schedule task for it and in PL add it to "keep running process" .
There maybe some switchesyou can add so it minimizes when starts (you have to check if available ) .

I mean, while FF is running, right-click on it in the taskbar and select 'Pin to taskbar'. Do you see this? Is it what you want?

Then FF is always int he taskbar, running or not.

I think he's talking about like Firefox Preloader.

Oh, I'm not familiar with it, but it should 'just work'..  someone will need to define the problem exactly, and how I can help, for me to be of help ;).

yes. you know well.

when click on Firefox's icon in taskbar or desktop or startscreen! i mean when running.  i wan't a fast running. instead of taking 5-7 seconds, just take 0-2 seconds.

Jeremy Collake

Oh, ok, I thought it was some new third-party app at first. Communication is terrible in this thread :o

I will said that, unless Firefox support it natively(like Chrome), then you can only use some old addons that might not working to keep it running at the background, after you closed it.

There's no "problem".
He's suggesting something to be implemented in Process Lasso. He's suggesting something like Firefox Preloader.

Oh, ok, thank you.

Yes, I can see how it could fit.

I will consider such a technology.

Thank you for your suggestion!

this extension is not much effective. also "AlwaysUp" has made Firefox running faster but not much. i think bitsum team can make a better preloader in Process Lasso.

I guess something like, loading the apps, then suspend it? ;)

Jeremy Collake

There are ways it can be done better, I'm sure. However, I won't evaluate that until I get to this project.

For now, I have to finish v7.8, which continues to get SmartTrim finished, among many other things.
