When the update finishes it does not show the the update notification in the system tray.

You need to provide Bitsum Support with more details (unless JC already knows what OS you're running and what your OS configuration is), because after updating the notification balloon appeared for me.

The only thing that may be related to your problem (that comes to my mind) is what we can read in the changelog:

Quote6.0.2.41[beta]   Fix   GUI   Fixes automated update in XP

Yes I did. Thought that was it and checked to make sure it was still checked. I am on Windows 7. One last thing I should check to see if it is on in Windows. Ok now just need an update to check to see if it works.

I am having the same problem.

When I saw this thread, I just check for update and update it.
I saw that balloon came up(windows 8 ), so might be there are some problem come up when fixing the problem for XP?

Yes, it could be related to the automated update issues of XP, if the machine in question is XP. I am actually working on this now, being a blocker before the next final. The update *after* that should then properly show the system tray notification. Manual updates do not show this notification.

No, op is using windows 7 while Tarnak is using XP.
And we will know in the next update. ;)

Think I got it. Just waiting on an update for a test.

The XP auto update issue is now fixed (and verified this time) internally. The localization of the download progress dialog has also been improved. However, I have run into a couple blockers and will have to issue a beta first to further review all these changes. There are several other misc fixes and enhancements.

Anything specific among the "misc fixes and enhancements" we XP users should watch for in the next update?

Jeremy Collake

Other than the automated updates working again for the next update, not really.

There *will be* some new stuff for XP coming though, as I expand the watchdog rules especially.
