Process Lasso / Re: Severe System Stuttering, ...

You can try right-clicking on the GPU widget and unchecking "Collect and Show CPU Utilization". We aren't aware of any general problem, but the biggest changes are related to that. Note that when Process Lasso is minimized to the tray, it doesn't collect any GPU data so it shouldn't be a factor.

Sorry about the custom colors, it is a hassle to restore them! We need to work on that.

Unfortunately, this report is still a mystery to us, but we did spend considerable time researching how it could occur. The best theory we have involves your system integrity, due to the following reasoning:

The per-process CPU use of testlasso.exe suggests something else is consuming most of the CPU cycles at the time of the test in High Performance, preventing testlasso.exe from exceeding the per-process threshold. You can see the total CPU usage at 100%, while testlasso.exe itself barely moves the needle. Your Task Manager observation of testlasso.exe CPU usage confirms it's not just Process Lasso somehow doing math wrong.

Assuming there is another actor, why it is only active in High Performance is unknown. It should also be apparent what that other actor is, yet it seems invisible.

That points to an issue with your system integrity, possibly malware hiding its CPU usage. Now, I have no evidence of that, so don't be alarmed. Still, run an offline scan with Windows Defender at the least.

If there is any news on this matter, it would be very welcome :)

Greetings
It happened to us too when installing (over-installing) from v18.1.0.44 to v18.2.0.50
Freezing and various slowdowns and the ProcessLasso interface sometimes stuck on loading
We solved the problem by completely uninstalling the program and reinstalling it from scratch, then manually restoring all the custom settings
Restoring custom colors was an odyssey XD

There aren't any general problems we are aware of, or that would have likely been caused by any recent update. They've mostly been cosmetic and UX oriented, to be honest. And what you describe sounds hard to miss!

However, one or more of your particular rules could have started to behave differently after some other change in system conditions, such as system or application updates.

If you want to post your diagnostics report from the "Help" menu, or send it to us at support@bitsum.com we can take a closer look. You can also try resetting your config at the bottom of the "Options" menu, then restarting the system -- to try to rule the rules out, no pun intended.

v18.2.1 is scheduled to be released today, but contains no critical hotfixes.

You can also experiment with older versions here: https://bitsum.com/support/show_all_versions.php?ProductID=64435

As always, though I'm not suggesting it is related to this case, please ensure you only download Process Lasso from bitsum.com. We've seen unauthorized (pirated) copies out there that contain malware! Sadly this is a problem endemic to the industry. Stay vigilant!

A conundrum emerges! Beyond the well-trodden path of obs64.exe, lies an often-overlooked companion. Could optimizing obs-ffmpeg-mux.exe unlock hidden performance?

Process Lasso / Severe System Stuttering, Inpu...

Hi everyone,

I am experiencing extreme system-wide stuttering and freezing issues after the recent Process Lasso update. My system was running perfectly before, but now it feels totally unusable for daily tasks when Process Lasso is running in the background.

Here are my hardware specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D

GPU: ASUS ROG Strix RTX 5090

RAM: 64GB DDR5-6000

Peripherals: Logitech MX Master 3S & Logitech Keyboard

OS: Windows 11

The symptoms I am constantly facing:

Mouse Stuttering: The mouse pointer frequently freezes and stutters during simple desktop usage.

Severe Keyboard Lag: Typing in browsers is heavily delayed and unresponsive.

Video Playback Interruptions: Short videos (e.g., on Threads or social media) constantly pause or get interrupted automatically.

Image Loading Hangs: Loading images on web pages causes the entire browser to hang momentarily.

The moment I completely close or uninstall Process Lasso, all these stuttering and freezing issues immediately disappear, and the system becomes buttery smooth again. It seems the recent update's core scheduling or CCD affinity management is causing massive DPC latency conflicts with Windows 11, browser hardware acceleration, and input services.

Are there any plans to release a hotfix for dual-CCD / X3D processors? Until this is resolved, I am forced to keep Process Lasso uninstalled on this flagship setup.

Looking forward to a response.

If `lsusb` already shows the CH341 device then the driver is probably fine, and the next step is usually to check which serial device it created (often `/dev/ttyUSB0`) with `dmesg | tail` right after plugging it in, then connect to it using a serial terminal like `minicom` or `screen`.

Your setup is honestly already very balanced for modern gaming. With a Ryzen 7 5800X and RTX 3070, I'd avoid over-tweaking CPU affinities unless you're troubleshooting a specific issue because newer Windows schedulers usually handle Ryzen chips pretty efficiently on their own.

I've noticed the biggest gains usually come from reducing background load, improving cooling, and checking whether the system is actually CPU-limited in certain games before changing priorities too aggressively. While testing different setups, I sometimes compare configurations with tools like this trybottleneckcalculator<dot>com PC performance checker[/url] just to get a better idea of whether FPS drops are related to CPU/GPU balance, RAM usage, or thermal throttling.

Other than that, keeping ProBalance enabled and using Bitsum Highest Performance during gaming sessions is probably already enough for most modern titles.
