From my experience, the first thing to check is whether you're running out of RAM rather than CPU resources. Modern browsers can easily consume several gigabytes of memory when many tabs are open, and if Windows starts paging to disk, everything feels sluggish.

Process Lasso formerly reverted the system to the user's specified power plan upon closing Microsoft Solitaire & Casual Games.

Currently, there is no "100% safe way" to hack by modifying affinity while the game is running. The safest methods are to use official AMD/Windows mechanisms or BIOS settings.

Interesting! Thanks for the heads up! We'll have to dig into that. My guess is that internal support for those high performance overlays will continue indefinitely despite that message, but it's definitely something to keep an eye on.

Intel provides tools like the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU) and Intel Performance Maximizer that allow users to manage core utilization. While these tools are primarily aimed at performance tuning, they may provide options to configure core usage based on power profiles.

Intel laptops have P-Cores and E-cores and E-cores is supposed to be more power efficient.

Is there any way to automatically have all processes move only to E-cores when a laptop is running in battery eco mode?

Previously, when Microsoft Solitaire & Casual Games was closed, Process Lasso would correctly restore the system to the user's custom power plan. According to the event log provided, however, the software is now resetting the policy scheme from the High Performance GUID back to the exact same High Performance GUID, indicating that the original custom plan is no longer being restored.

Well I just got this response from Windows 11 console...

powercfg /setacvalueindex 3af9b8d9-7c97-431d-ad78-34a8bfea439f 7516b95f-f776-4464-8c53-06167f40cc99 3c0bc021-c8a8-4e07-a973-6b14cbcb2b7e 0
Warning: Overlay scheme is deprecated and may not be supported in the future

I don't know when windows started responding with that and I didn't find anything running that phrase through DDG search engine. Maybe it's new.

Affinity Masking and Process Prioritization made the biggest difference for me with stuttering in DCS — assigning P-cores specifically to the sim helped a lot more than I expected. More details here: https://bitsum.com/how-probalance-works6x

This is really helpful, thanks for breaking down the exact steps. I always assumed CPU affinity tweaks were too complicated to bother with, but the way you laid it out makes it seem totally manageable. Going to try this on my own setup tonight.
