Yes, hanebach_gt is correct. There's no data collection, no sending of anything to Bitsum. The activation process only sends the activation code, username, and version info. The update process only checks the latest version against the installed version. The activated (or not) status is sent during the update process, as a simple boolean (true or false).
The web server of course has logs and such, like all other web servers on the internet. We don't do anything with this information, other than compose statistics about traffic and such.
The user accounts we have are not revealed to anyone else, ever. This seems like it'd be obvious, but of course big corporations usually exploit their user information

I dare to guess that Bitsum operates better, or as good as, 99.9% of companies when it comes to privacy. It's hard to imagine doing any better!
