Quote from: Wersed on April 09, 2024, 11:19:04 PMHi everyone, I just downloaded Process Lasso v9.0.0.290 and Parkcontrol today, but everything is just greek to me. I don't understand which options to select and the possible things i can do in order to make my game (dota 2) run more smoothly and efficiently. I have searched the forums, but i was only able to find guides for older versions of PL, so i am not sure if certain things are the same as this current version (v9.0.0.290) of PL. I am a newbee, so a step-by-step would be great! Thank you in advance! geometry dashThe registry modifications that the video implies *would* last until your Windows installation is reset. They ought to be gone if you carried out the latter (a complete reset of your Windows installation). Those would be the thing causing the problems, if anything.

Will the default settings, straight out of the box, be sufficient?
I'm trying out process lasso on a RDS 2012 R2 server, we are having problems with high cpu spikes caused by Google Chrome sessions and unfortunately microsoft stripped the build in tool to manage/limit cpu resource, so have been looking for an alternative, process lasso seems to fit the bill.
I was impressed by running the pro balance demo on my laptop and iq test free to see the same results on a remote desktop server.
Quote from: Jeremy Collake on May 19, 2024, 06:29:27 AMWe'd really have to dig into this to give you a certain answer. It is strange that you can't achieve close to the same results that you had when disabling E-cores at the BIOS level, but as you mentioned, Windows thread scheduling on these platforms is a mess.
What power plan (or mode) are you in? If not already, switch to a high performance plan to help dissuade Windows from making use of the E-cores. You can use ParkControl to check the heterogenous scheduling settings for the power plan.

QuoteFirst, let's ensure you've checked menu item 'Options / Forced Mode (continuously reapply settings)', in case that software is managing its own affinity.
QuoteWith the E-cores removed by affinity, the total CPU % is going to be limited since only the P-cores can be used. In contrast, when you disabled the E-cores in the BIOS, the CPU consumption could reach 100% since the E-cores were not included in the total available capacity.
QuoteYou should also check for any thread count setting in the analysis software and set it to the total number of P-cores threads you have available (2x the P-cores). Otherwise, it may launch too many threads for the constrained CPU affinity to cope with.
How is the analysis time after the rules you set with Process Lasso?
